Hi Swiss,

Wot is it you are trying to achieve?

Based on Riley's view (which I've no reason to doubt) that the 30mm increase in ride height is measured from the back axle.

I carried out the following "experiment"

Standard plate

Distance between rear axle and fixed point was 470mm

Distance from fixed point (on seat) to ground was 720mm.

Remove shock bolt to allow me to move frame independantly of swinger.

Increase measurement from axle to fixed point to 500mm ( +30mm)

Measurement from same point on seat to ground is now between 725 and 730mm ( +5/10mm)

Now if, like me, your a shortass who can only just touch floor on standard settings 5-10mm increase would be a big deal, but is this what you wanted?

Obviously these figures are got from a bare frame on both abba & paddock stands (ie no sag).

Whilst its your money and you can obviously spend it on whatever u want, I'm not convinced these plates will give u what your after. but, maybe i'm wrong.

Now that is useful info Al Thumbs Up

I'm not tall; about 5' 9".

When I sit on the bike, both my feet are pretty much flat on the floor; this always seems to be the case with old sports bikes.

On my R6 [2008 model] its a tip toe jobbie, which I prefer.

An increase in seat height of around 10mm is okay with me.

Its also a visual thing as with Kerms NC; a 30mm increase at the rear will imo look better.

I am not trying to achieve anything specific [i.e. a measurement]; I just feel it will make the bike fit me better & look a little less low at the rear.

Hi Swiss,

Cool, job done, Grin

30mm rise should give you what you want.

Good job it wasn't measured at seat cause you'd not be able to touch the floor.

At 5ft8, I can only get balls of both feet on floor on blade and cbr6, which is only just ok.

Found best thing for me was to keep right foot and peg and just plant left foot fully on ground,( but this obviously means laying bike over v.slightly.

Feel alot more secure though with whole foot on floor.

Hi Gazk,

Obviously I don't ride like this when I've got my high heels on though cause in them i'm 6ft 3.

I heard that raising the rear can be achieved by rotating the plates around.
I could never be arsed to try it myself.....but cheap to try.

mine felt crap before. it didnt want to turn into the slow bends. i had to fight it . as im 6"4 the extra leg room at lights is better,
now it turns in a bit better and i do like it . but i also think i need to spend some money here http://www.mctsuspension.com/setup.htm
to get things the way i want them they come very recommended.
at the end of the day turning the triangles is free if you dont like it turn them back thats the mods i like the free ones.

Are you sure its the same on the 900; the holes look equidistant to me?

Where was the 50mm increase measured from?
