Well, I've finally made the sad decision to let the SP go, seldom get the chance (or the wish) to ride solo anymore Confused

So, based on the experience of you guys on here, where would be the best place to advertise it, Bike trader, MCN, Ebay?

I posted a while ago asking for views on value, anyone got any up to date views:

2000(W), really tidy, 2 owners from new (original + me), 19K miles with history upto about 16k, standard apart from PCiiir, smoked bubble screen and gear indicator. Tested til April '11, taxed til August '10, new rear tyre (front is good for a while yet), chain and sprockets will need changing soon I reckon.

Aww couldn't you have waited a bit? lol. I want an SP1 but not had chance to get the money together!

Looks a cracking bike though, probably around the £2700 mark I would say?

What other details should I list that I haven't included in the OP?

most dont keep em long as there a bit painful but that dont stop people wanting one Grin I've had mine >4yrs and loved every minute of it and whilst I've found it OK for 250 miles in a day solo (with stops)they're uncomfortable for two up if the passenger is more than 4' 6" and 6 stone!

I'd be buying it to be certain i don't have to carry a pillion! Grin

I saw one similar on ebay about a week ago and that went for £2700 hence my valuation. Honestly Richard, if I had the money I'd be on my way to your house now. I've always wanted one of these. My 600 is the ideal first big bike, but who wouldn't be attracted to an SP1 Wink

To be honest before I got it I'd just been looking for any big twin cos I liked the sound of em. Quite by chance I got chatting to a guy I vaguely knew one night at a bike meet and he suggested I come round and have a go on his SP to see if I really wanted a twin (he was on a Busa at the time and I didn't even know he had an SP)...ended up buying it off him the next day Grin

Highly recommended by yours truly and a perfect excuse not to ride two up for sure Thumbs Up

I've been trying to think of ways to scrape together some pennies, but.. other than taking out a bank loan, which I really don't want to do.
I do like big twins as well, the sound is just awesome. But the SP1's and 2's have such a good name.

If I ever needed to carry a pillion I still have my old nighthawk. It's not on the road yet, but it doesn't need much. So the idea of a solo only superbike sounds much more appealing Wink

But you should have absolutely no trouble at all getting a very good price for yours mate. I'd love it personally, so I'm sure anyone in the market for one would also.

Laugh , ah right....but that was part of my original question...what's it worth?

Had a look on Ebay and there are 3 with starting prices ranging from under £3k to £5k...think someone is dreaming eek

MCN has them listed from about £3k but for similar to mine I guess they're around the £3.5k mark but who knows if they sell at that?

ahh im with you

i think its worth £3k + in that order

stick it in mcn (£10) at £3.600 or ono and see what happens but be realistic if someone offers you £3100 cash its not a bad price

or ebay with a reserve of what is the least you will take

Couldn't agree more, I can't see anyone reason why you wouldn't get that for it. £3100 would be an easily expectable catch.

Good look with the sale mate.

Well, did as suggested and stuck it on/in MCN and got very poor response. Had two guys who seemed really keen but didn't want to travel 'that far'!

Gonna have to be Ebay I reckon Confused

There seem to be quite a lot about for sale at the mo, especially on ebay. All the ads seem to say 'future classic!'. If that's case, why aren't they all keeping them? smile

Just a thought, have a look at advertising it on www.pistonheads.com

More and more bikers are using this site. Also worth banging it on www.visordown.com

eBay just attracts people who want summat for nowt! :-)

Both free to advertise
